There’s something special about photographing a couple in the places that already feel like home.
For Emily and Tristan’s engagement session, we spent an evening wandering through their corner of NoHo, letting the city and their everyday rituals shape our time together. We started at Il Buco, one of their favorite restaurants, before making our way through the cobblestone streets of Bond Street—stopping along the way whenever the light, architecture, or a quiet little moment caught our attention.
From there, we headed back to their apartment, where the evening slowed down over a game of chess. It felt intimate and wonderfully ordinary and perfectly them - overall, such a great little time capsule of their current life.
We ended the night on their rooftop with a glass of wine as the sun slipped behind the Manhattan skyline. A little bit of New York, a little bit of home, and an evening that felt completely like them.
I already can’t wait to photograph these two again when they get married at Lion Rock Farm in September, 2027. If their engagement session was any indication, it’s going to be such a fun, incredible weekend.
