Happy Spring, friends! I don’t know about you, but after what felt like an extra-long winter, I am ready for all of the things — outdoor fun, weddings, happy hours, bonfires with friends, elopements, etc. I’m also SO looking forward to sharing more Vermont engagement sessions and Vermont engagement photos with all of you here on the blog! First up, we’re taking a look at Annie & Ty’s trendy, downtown Winooski, Vermont engagement session. These two were such a blast to work with and I can’t even wait to celebrate with them!
Winooski, Vermont Engagement Session
Annie & Ty are hilarious and I had the BEST time with them wandering the streets of Winooski this past Saturday for their engagement session. They are getting married at Waterworks in February of 2022 and said they were hoping for an engagement sesh gallery to match the industrial/city-chic, red brick and black aesthetic of their venue. And I’m pretty sure we nailed it. Can you even with the Vermont engagement session photos below? 😍🤩
Here are a few fun pieces of info from the questionnaire I ask couples to fill out before their session. Annie & Ty are so fun that I had to at least include a few of these!
Describe your relationship vibe in three words:
Ty: “Utterly Fucking Unbelievable”
Annie: “Fun, VERY loving & affectionate (five words, oops)”
How did you and your partner meet? “We met on Coffee Meets Bagel. Ty’s bio said that he was into “mumbling Drake lyrics at his desk and getting 8 hours of sleep” and I was sold. Our first date was at Great Northern and we have been together ever since.”
Do you have a vision for your wedding day? No pressure on this one, but ask yourself questions like: What are you hoping your guests experience? What do you want them to remember when reflecting back on spending that time with you? Why did you choose your wedding date in the first place? “Our initial wedding dream was to have a New Years Eve wedding, so we are trying to recreate fun, adult party vibes at our wedding. HOWEVER…we really just want everyone to have fun. We want it to be a nice feel-good, hopefully post-Covid party for everyone to go to and celebrate love.
Our theme visually is simple and minimalistic. Colors are black, white, brick (not a color just a vibe), and greenery, with gold table accents. And white candles. Ty wants to wear a burgundy tux jacket.
The “why” behind us eliminating certain formal aspects of weddings like bridal parties and rehearsal dinners, is we want to eliminate as much as possible the work and the drama around the wedding. We want people to be able to come, not have any pressure, and just be able to relax and have fun without stressing about anything. We view it more as a party with our family and friends where we get married, and less of a formal wedding.
Also, we would make it a Black Tie Optional wedding, but we know who our people are, so we are going with Cocktail attire. But so that you know our vibes, our ideal situation is to make it an occasion to dress for and feel good and be fancy!”
Annie & Ty’s Vermont Engagement Photos
Annie and Ty – if our time together during your Vermont engagement session was any indication of how fun your wedding is going to be I can’t even wait. 🥂🎉 Thank you both for the margarita at Mule Bar VT and for the many, many laughs (and patience while you kinda froze your behind ‘s off, haha).
