There’s something especially meaningful about returning to the place where your story began. For this couple, Middlebury, Vermont - the town where they met while attending Middlebury College - was the perfect setting for a joyful summer wedding surrounded by their closeset family and friends.
Their celebration unfolded at a charming restaurant just outside of town, Tourterelle, where a sailcloth tent was transformed into a lush, flower-filled space (huge shoutout to the creative geniuses that are Sophia from Willow Hill Design Co. and Nora from Kingsley Floral. Abundant seasonal blooms spilled across the tables and tent poles, bringing soft color and a wonderfully cozy feeling to the evening. Against the green Vermont landscape, every detail felt effortless and intimate and perfectly placed.
The couple's ceremony took place with a backdrop of peak bloom sunflowers, cocktail hour was nearby with views of the pond and the Vermont mountains. Then guests gathered beneath the tent for dinner, heartfelt toasts, and plenty of dancing as the evening sun settled over the mountains.
More than a beautiful destination, Middlebury gave the weekend a sense of nostalgia and connection - a return to a place that had already played such an important part in Catherine and Miles' lives.
It was a quintessential Vermont celebration: beautiful flowers, an intimate and meaningful setting, a glowing tent, and a couple beginning their next chapter not far from where it all started.
