We had an April snowstorm in Vermont this week, so it seemed like a great time to share some sunshine-filled inspo from Sam and Tim’s Aruba wedding! Keep scrolling to read a little about Aruba and the couple, or feel free to skim right past and soak up these sunny wedding images.
I first met Tim and Sam when they took a weekend trip to Vermont in 2020. They had reached out ahead of time and booked me for an engagement session at Shelburne Farms. We had such a blast together and I was so honored that they opted to also hire me for their destination Aruba wedding. This was such a fun one and I can’t wait to visit these two next time I’m in Boston.
Aruba Wedding: The Day!
If you’re thinking about a destination Aruba wedding, I can see why! The endlessly sunny weather paired with a constant slight breeze makes any activity comfortable, from off road Jeep tours to simply soaking up some sunshine beachside. Known for its very Instagrammable flocks of flamingos and turquoise waters, the island of Aruba lies just off the North coast of Venezuela in the Caribbean sea. Aruba is a small island with breezy beaches, and as you can see from the images below – epic sunsets.
Sam and Tim chose to host their springtime Aruba wedding near the North end of the island in Noord at The Faro Blanco Restaurant. The night before their nuptials, S+T’s closest family and friends dined beachside on fresh seafood and Italian-style appetizers at Passions on the Beach. During their rehearsal dinner, I was able to steal the happy couple away for a few waterfront portraits – their last photos together before their Aruba destination wedding. The energy was high, the vibes were good, and the weather was perfect.
The morning of March 2nd, Sam prepped for the big day with her bridal party and a chilled bottle of Veuve at The Mariott Stellaris Resort. Andrew swiftly worked his makeup magic the wedding party while I photographed Sam’s personal details: her passport-style invitation suite, shoes, earrings, etc. At the same time, Danielle Allendorf Photography was capturing Tim and his friends hanging out, getting dressed, and prepping for the ceremony.
Once the couple was ready, we met for a first look near the hotel pool in some dreamy light, took a few wedding and family photos and headed off to the ceremony location at Faro Blanco. When we arrived, everyone was stunned by the attention to detail of their planner, Lissy Lampe, of Ceremonies & Celebrations in Aruba.
As many of you may know, the dreamiest light of the day is often the hour leading up to sunset so Sam & Tim’s timing of a golden hour ceremony was spot on. Following their I do’s, we took a few portraits of the wedding party and the happy couple, followed by a sunset-lit cocktail hour. Immediately following their cake cutting, carnival dancers surprised Sam and Tim’s guest with an energetic dance performance that sent everyone into dance mode.
Sam and Tim, I had such an amazing time celebrating with your friends and family. Thank you again for trusting me to document this celebration!
