Liz and Trevor spent the last weekend in June celebrating their love with a stunning, colorful Lake Champlain wedding. The pair planned a festive summer event on the shores of Lake Champlain at Basin Harbor Club. Every detail of their day was thoughtful and vibrant – from their customized stationary, to their exquisite florals, to their signature cocktail. And best of all? Their dog, Marty, was by their side for their entire day! Perhaps one of the most touching aspects of their day was their desire to stay true to themselves and their vision during the planning process. Liz knew that she wanted a bright, vibrant color palette which was different from the recently trending neutrals seen at so many soirées. In her words, she stated that she hoped to design the decor based off of her imagination and wanted the entire day to “radiate positivity.” If you continue reading, I think you’ll agree that their Lake Champlain wedding does just that!
A Colorful Lake Champlain Wedding: The Venue!
For those who haven’t been to Basin Harbor Club, put it on your list! The sprawling resort sits just south of Vermont’s queen city in the lakeside town of Vergennes. The venue is a favorite among many couples for it’s ability to do it all. The resort offers lodging for guests, so family and friends can stay on site for the nuptials, either in a room or in a private cottage. In addition, Basin Harbor is both kid and dog-friendly, making it ideal for celebrations of all kinds. When not destined for a wedding ceremony or reception, guests can spend their time golfing, swimming, or enjoying a meal at one of the on-site restaurants.
A Colorful Lake Champlain Wedding: The Day!
Liz and Trevor both prepped for their big day on site at Basin Harbor. Liz spent the morning with friends and family popping in and out, but largely with both her and Trevor’s mom. Marty, naturally, spent the morning with the other gentlemen in Sundial cottage. L+T planned an afternoon ceremony at the wedding arch on the resort lawn, just steps away from Lake Champlain. After the two made it official, they spent their cocktail hour mingling with guests among Basin Harbor’s iconic Adirondack chairs, overlooking the lake below, each with a signature cocktail – Marty’s watermelon margarita – in hand. Guests ooh-ed and ahh-ed at the vibrant decor and specialty touches throughout the day. El’s Cards, from nearby coastal New Hampshire, crafted unique place settings, invite suites, resort maps, and invitations. In Full Bloom created equally spectacular florals, using peonies, poppies, and ranunculus among others. The bright pinks and oranges of Liz’s bridal bouquet easily made it’s way on to my favorites list for the year!
After cocktail hour, guests danced the night away while I stole L+T for some magic moments dockside. Peek at their sunset photos at the water below! When we returned, we were treated to a delicious spread of chocolate-covered strawberries and the sweetest cookies designed after the best man, Marty. A perfect way to end the evening!
Congratulations, you two – I mean three – on your stunning Lake Champlain wedding. I wish you all of the happiness in the years ahead!
