Engagement Session
“Life is for deep kisses, strange adventures, midnight swims & rambling conversations…”
— ~Anon
Helloooo friends! I’m a bit behind on blogging, but plan to catch up this month! Here’s a flashback post recapping Colin and Aly’s Red Rocks Park engagement session in Burlington, Vermont — enjoy!
The People: These two describe themselves as “easy going, silly, and always looking for a new adventure” — I couldn’t agree more. Colin and I are actually coworkers at my 9-5 office job, and so I’ve gotten to know him over the past 5 years that we’ve worked together. He always has a smile on his face, and is known for his friendly demeanor and many stylish sets of kicks that he wears around the office. Aly and Colin always seem to be taking off on fun weekend getaways, and to hear them say that they’re always looking for a new adventure is so perfect for them, and so true.
The Details: Aly originally reached out to me during one of of my model calls when I first launched my business. We scheduled a date for their session, but it fell through due to weather — little did I know that Colin would propose that same day despite the weather change! He had tried to reach out to me on Instagram, but as you may know — any new message requests used to be sort of hidden, so I didn’t catch it in time. I was SO bummed (but so happy for them obviously!). Fast forward a few months and I lucked out with them booking me for their engagement session!
I’ve started sending out a questionnaire to couples that book with me — it gives them a little time to reflect on their relationship together, and gives me a little insider info into their relationship, along with a few things to chat about when we meet up! Here are some sweet words from the two of them:
Aly’s favorite thing about Colin: He makes me laugh so hard it hurts.
Colin’s favorite thing about Aly: She’s so caring and compassionate, it’s inspiring.
The Session: Aly and Colin chose Red Rocks as their session location — they live fairly close to the park and have two pups they walk often, so this location was prime for both of those reasons. I love this spot – it’s central, but feels like you’re in a secret woodsy location – plus there are water views and we were lucky enough to witness a perfect Vermont sunset as well. <3
