“Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray.””
— Rumi
The People: I have been lucky enough to know Brad since college — we lived in the same residential building on campus, and I was his RA for a year as well. So, when he reached out to me (almost 10 years later – yikes!) to photograph his Mountain Top Inn & Resort elopement, I could not have been more excited. I love when friends from the past circle back into your life, and am so happy to have documented this special day for Brad + Jacqueline. Their engagement session took place at Shelburne Farms (which I will blog about another time, but for now I simply HAD to get this elopement posted — because, well, you’ll see – it was pure magic!).
The Details: I have a feeling you’ll be able to tell from the images, but these two have such a fun and playful vibe together. Some of their favorite memories include: silly jokes, their first date, their evenings together, the proposal at Shelburne Bay, moving in with each other and driving around the back roads of Vermont. I knew from meeting them that their Mountain Top Inn elopement would be full of love and personality.
Jacqueline’s favorite thing about Brad: Brad’s attitude/sense of humor.
Brad’s favorite thing(s) about Jacqueline: Her, laugh, smile, ass. Oh and personality.
The Session: Brad and Jacqueline chose to elope at The Mountain Top Inn & Resort in Chittenden, Vermont. This was my first time photographing an event there, and the venue definitely lived up to the hype — the mountainous view from most spots on the property (both inside the lodge and at the ceremony location) were breathtaking, even with the rainy and overcast weather we were dealt the day of their elopement. Brad’s parents joined us, along with Jacqueline’s brother and girlfriend. The ceremony small, intimate, emotional and genuine — all of my favorite elements of a wedding day. During the ceremony, Brad + Jacqueline’s rings were passed to those in attendance so that everyone could have a moment to wish the sweet couple the very best. This blog post is a bit of a longer scroll, but the images at the end are so, so worth it. Enjoy!
Brad and Jacqueline — thank you again for asking me to document your day. You two are lovely, and I wish you the absolute best future together! <3
