Mary and Mike are just a beautiful couple inside and out and I absolutely loved working with them. From their engagement session on the shores of Nantucket to their Capitol Plaza wedding in downtown Montpelier, Vermont we shared so many laughs. These two have such a natural chemistry together and I’m so excited to share a few images from their recent wedding. Mary and Mike hosted an all-weekend Memorial Day celebration with friends and family including an exclusive golf tournament, rehearsal dinner, and finally their classy black-tie event in Montpelier, Vermont. Family was an important theme throughout their wedding and it was clear from the start that M+M bring light and energy to every room they enter and every person they know. If you don’t believe me, take a peek at the images below! To browse a few highlights from their Nantucket engagement session, click here.

A Capitol Plaza Wedding: The Day!

It’s not often that my couples get married in their hometown – so for Mary and Mike to choose to host their May wedding in the city that Mary spent her childhood was a treat. Family and community was woven into every detail of the celebration – from Mary’s getting ready space at her childhood home, to their stunning ceremony at the local church, to the reception at her family’s hotel just steps away from the state’s capitol.

Mary prepped for the day with her bridal party – which was largely comprised of her family members – at her childhood home in Montpelier. Her mother and grandmother were both there, too – with her grandmother wearing the same dress she did for Mary’s mother’s wedding thirty years prior. And to top it off, Mary’s mother gave the bride her own veil from that same day thirty years ago.

Meanwhile, Mike and his groomsmen were getting ready at the Capitol Plaza, owned by the bride’s family, in downtown Montpelier. They sipped on local Zero Gravity beers with Mike gifting his family and friends stunning whiskey glasses from Vermont’s own Simon Pearce. Despite the rain, Mike chose to walk with his father and his groomsmen along Montpelier’s downtown streets to the church from the hotel. Their promenade was full of sunglasses, spirit, and some really, really incredible dance moves. Did I mention that M+M bring an unbeatable energy everywhere they go?!

After the ceremony at St. Augustine’s church, the pair were escorted in Mary’s grandfather’s car – a 1960 white Corvette. They arrived at the statehouse lawn in style, where we captured stunning portraits of the just married couple in front of the capitol steps. Back at the hotel, the bride and groom were introduced as Mr. and Mrs. in front of their closest friends and family. The two sipped on signature maple mojitos, stepping away from the dance floor only for sunset photos. M+M posed under the city theatre’s custom marquee – put in place just for Mary and Mike on their wedding day, capping off a day full of childhood odes and small town charm.

Mary and Mike – it was a pleasure to share your day with you and your loved ones. Your Capitol Plaza wedding was one for the books! I wish you all the best!
