A handful of weeks ago I connected with Nick and Lauren and their pup, Luna, for their Mills Riverside Park engagement session. These images were too cute (and the light too perfect) not to share a few! While weddings can undoubtedly take over my website and blog, engagements are equally beautiful and allow us to capture some beautiful portraits!
Mills Riverside Park Engagement: About the Location
If you’re looking for a dog-friendly engagement session location, Mills Riverside Park is a fabulous choice. They have both on-leash and off-leash areas where your pup can roam, based on their comfort level. There’s also a big open field with views of Mt. Mansfield in the distance, as well as a shallow river where they can swim. Warning: if your dog isn’t skilled at recall, stay in the on-leash section until our photo session is over! I once spent with a couple for their Mills Riverside Park engagement session with their two dogs who became a bit too adventurous and ended up rolling around in the mud and having to swim in the river to wash it off mid-session! Did the couple also get muddy? Was it hilarious? Yes and yes, but probably best to avoid while getting photos taken! Although…those could probably go viral.

It was important to Lauren and Nick to include their dog, Luna. Mills Riverside was a great choice and we were all so thrilled with our decision to meet at the Jericho, VT park. We were treated to a gorgeous summer day, and perhaps my favorite group of images are L&N in the flowers. With seemingly all of Vermont in bloom and views of Mount Mansfield in the background, Lauren and Nick’s engagement was one for the books.
Update: Lauren and Nick were married in August of 2020 at Edson Hill. They also spent part of their day reading vows and taking wedding portraits on the summit of Mt. Mansfield. You can view their wedding day blog here.
