A Sweet September Wedding at Sugarbush Resort

I was so lucky to spend a Saturday this past September photographing Hannah and Jamie’s stunning wedding at Sugarbush Resort. These two college sweethearts hosted the BEST day – complete with a mountain top ceremony, epic chairlift photos, unique details (check out those cufflinks and boutonnieres!), and the friendliest guests – including some black bears that crashed their cocktail hour! Sugarbush is easily one of my favorite venues because the property is so easily navigable and there are gorgeous views from multiple locations on the resort. I have more Sugarbush weddings on my calendar for the upcoming season and can’t wait to be back on the property. For more of H+J’s wedding recap, keep scrolling!

September Wedding at Sugarbush Recap: The Day!

Hannah and Jamie love all things outdoors, so a mountain top ceremony and dream wedding at Sugarbush Resort were just the (lift) ticket. 😉 The area around Sugarbush Resort is marked by winding roads, mountains, valleys, and swimming holes coveted by the locals (aka, a true outdoor enthusiast’s dream). Sugarbush Resort is open for weddings year round, and with both indoor and outdoor ceremony and reception sites, the property is sure to keep all guests comfortable and happy in any season. Hannah and Jamie’s day started with them getting ready in separate suites in Claybrook surrounded by their closest family members and friends. These two shook off any nerves with a first look at Sugarbush’s own covered bridge before they headed for higher elevation. Their pup, Recchi, stole the show during the ceremony and was able to walk his parents back down the aisle after their first kiss. After their ceremony, Hannah and Jamie rode the chairlift to the base of the mountain (photos below!) where they split off from their guests for some mountainside portraits. Meanwhile, Sugarbush hosted their friends and family for a cocktail hour complete with cornhole, cold beverages, bear sightings, and music at the Gatehouse Patio. After an hour of fun, all guests were welcomed into the Gatehouse Lodge for dinner and a night of dancing (and late night pizza!). Most important, the couple was able to indulge their self-proclaimed sweet tooths in a three-tiered wedding cake – rounding out a perfect wedding day.

September Wedding at Sugarbush: The Couple!

Hannah and Jamie met in nursing school at UVM. Jamie went on to paramedic school while serving in the U.S. Army and Hannah is working toward her Masters in Nursing. It’s safe to say that these two are BOTH equally passionate and committed to caring for others. They’ve always been willing to make sacrifices to help those around them. There’s no better example of this than when Jamie spent 327 days serving our country in the Middle East. When they’re not apart and helping others, H+J love spending time in the outdoors, preferably with their dog, Recchi (and if you’ve seen the photos of their pup, can you blame them?!). So an outdoor ceremony in the state they fell in love with only made sense for these two. They hosted the perfect Vermont September wedding, and if you look at the photos, you’ll be able to see that their guests enjoyed it, too.

Hannah and Jamie – I loved being part of your day. Enjoy all of your adventures ahead, wherever the road may take you (and Recchi)!
