I’m back on the blog with images from Becky and Jacob’s Trapp Family Lodge wedding photography gallery. Not only is this venue gorgeous, but these two planned their May micro-wedding for perhaps the most beautiful spring day we’ve seen yet. J&B were fortunate to have partly cloudy skies for their ceremony, a delicately designed cake by Vermont Sweet Treats, thoughtful filmmaking by Macaulay from Wood & Ether, and breathtaking florals from Nectar and Root. Current couples – if you’re looking for cake or florals, you won’t want to miss an opportunity to work with those two vendors. A Trapp Family Lodge Wedding: The Couple
Anyway, let’s chat about these two lovebirds! From the start, Becky and Jacob wanted a small, intimate gathering with their closest friends and family. When the pandemic began, it only solidified their plans to keep plans on the smaller side. The good news? The mask mandate was lifted just before their wedding day, so these two were able to celebrate sans masks, too.
When asked about their vision for their wedding day, Becky and Jacob replied: “We want our wedding day to be fun, relaxing, easy-going and intimate. We just want to be able to spend time with the most important people to us, and celebrate our marriage. Our families have known each other for over 10 years, so it will be really special to have us all together.
We have always envisioned a small, intimate wedding. While large weddings are super fun and we absolutely love attending them (we LOVE dancing!), we knew that for our day, we wanted to focus more on celebrating our marriage, rather than “putting on a show” or trying to please everyone. Instead, we want to focus on having a really special, intimate wedding with just our families, to really celebrate this union and be able to spend quality time with each other & our family members.”
Becky and Jacob describe their relationship as easy going, silly, and genuine and I couldn’t agree more. They were smiling from ear to ear at and giggling with each other all afternoon. They met in high school during English class of their senior year while working on a team project and the rest was history!
Trapp Family Lodge Wedding Day: May 23, 2021
If you’re from Vermont, you’ll know that the weather can be a tad unpredictable here. Some days call for sun and we see rain, and some days that call for rain end up being some of the most beautiful evenings. Becky and Jacob’s day was the latter. Waking up that morning with dark skies and wind gusts, you never would have guessed that these two would later luck out with the most gorgeous partly cloudy sky day at Trapp Family Lodge for their ceremony. Thank you, Mother Nature! And, for those of you familiar with photography, you’ll know that partly cloudy skies are a photographer’s dream when you’re shooting in bright light so I was elated as a few clouds started rolling in.
Becky and Jacob chose to have their ceremony on the Trapp Family Lodge concert stage, a platform in one of their fields on the property, and Jacob’s father was the officiant. Once they said their I do’s, they popped open a bottle of bubbly, listened to a toast given by Becky’s father, did their first dance followed by parent dances, and then got their groove on with a little group dancing on the platform. Once all of the formalities were finished, family and friends snuck off to a casual cocktail hour while Macaulay and I stole the couple away for some dreamy portraits.

Becky and Jacob, thank you both for trusting me to document these moments for you! I loved everything about your vibrant, spring Trapp Family Lodge wedding and are so appreciative to you both.
There is nothing I love more than sharing the stories of couples I work with. Each is so unique and thoughtful and I am grateful to be part of their celebrations.
