I’m back on the blog with a cozy, casual Vermont winter engagement session that took place a few weeks ago with Ashley and Mike and their pup, Ruger. Ashley had been part of Jenn & Chuck’s Spruce Peak wedding last winter and I was SO excited when she reached out to me after being newly engaged herself.

Ashley and Mike’s Vermont Winter Engagement Photography Session

We lucked out with a fairly mild Vermont winter day. When I arrived, Ashley and Mike were ready with fancy bourbon bevs in hand – one for the photographer, too! Rough start to a session, eh?

We sipped, socially distant of course, outside in the snow and caught up a bit before adventuring around family property for their session. I LOVE when couples choose locations that are meaningful to them. Not only was this their parents’ property, but the pond in these photos will be the backdrop for where they’ll be hosting their 2021 wedding ceremony later this year.

Once our drinks were empty and we had tired Ruger out, we adventured to a nearby farm that was previously owned by family friends. The sun even peeked out for our time at the farm – something, as you know, that is a bit illusive during Vermont winters.

Ashley and Mike, congrats again! I had so much fun with you two!
